Bruno Cannavan

Senior Coach

Bruno has been involved in the game of football from an early age having gained extensive experience as a player and as a coach in numerous forms of the game, including Futsal.

Growing up in Brasil, Bruno represented the Brasilian national Under-15 and Under-18 sides at Futsal, as well as touring the world to participate in tournaments for Brasilian clubs including Palmeiras, Portuguesa, Juventus SP and Nacional SP.

At 11-a-side, he represented various Brasilian clubs at under 18 and semi-pro level before playing professionally for Palmeiras and Juventus SP, both in Brasil.

During his youth career, he was fortunate to play with some of the best players in the world such as two, three-time Futsal World Player of the Year winners – Falcão (known as Futsal’s Pele) and Manoel Tobias – plus the world famous Kaká. Bruno was also coached by Fernando Ferreti and the legendary Luiz Felipe Scolari, who later went on to coach the Portuguese and Brasilian national football teams as well as England’s Chelsea FC.

Bruno moved to Hong Kong, and continued his playing career, playing for Yuen Long in Hong Kong and Windsor Arch Ka I in Macau.

With his love of Futsal, he founded and is the Head Coach of the Brasil Futsal Academy in Hong Kong.   In addition, he was also asked to become the Technical Advisor for the Taiwan National Team in the Asia Football Confederation Futsal Championship, Vietnam 2014.

Bruno has a vast amount of coaching experience both in Brasil and Hong Kong. He coached

Futsal/5-a-side at Palmeiras and Juventus in Brasil, and was the Football Development Officer in São Paulo, Brasil across numerous primary, secondary and high schools and universities

In Hong Kong, he worked for AC Milan under the legendary Franco Baresi, before becoming a coach at BTS. He has helped coach United Services Recreation Club (USRC) at the Citibank International Soccer Sevens, 2014, where they reached the final, as well as continuing to be a player coach for USRC’s Yau Yee Division 1 team, who are the defending champions, with Bruno as last years’ Golden Boot winner.

Bruno also has a Masters in International Sports Management from the Johan Cruyff Institute for Sports Studies.
